When I decided to launch this blog, I knew immediately I wanted it to be primarily about fashion. As I write in my About Me page, I realize that there is no shortage of fashion blogs out there creating and sharing great content. At the same time, I find very few that I can fully relate to. I find myself wanting to be inspired by you – a woman in your 40s or 50s (or 60s!) who loves and appreciates great style, and has the means and desire to build a killer wardrobe. I am not talking about the More magazine flavor of style (no offense to the magazine); you are attracted to the edgy designs of Rick Owens, Ann Demeulemeester, and Balmain. You might not buy those designers, but you look like you do! You don’t follow the “dressing for over-40” fashion rules.
You are also a fitness and healthy lifestyle devotee. You love the gym – how it makes you feel, the energy and the vibe. You also like taking your workout outdoors, but mostly you just need to workout! Taking care of your body is not unrelated to your attraction to edgy fashion – if you were a couch potato and allowed the middle-age spread to occur, you certainly wouldn’t feel very motivated to get dressed.
So who is my reader? She’s 40 – 60, takes excellent care of herself and her body, and likes to push the fashion envelope. She likes make-up and a great (non-news-anchory!) haircut. She wears skinny jeans, combat boots, and a chunky vintage necklace. She also wears maxi skirts with sneakers and cozy sweaters – and a great leather jacket. She may or may not have adult kids that are fun to be around and share her interests.
If this is you, I want to hear from you!
